Life Is Fleeting.

I miss my friend, I really do. Don’t ever date a friend. It changes things. As soon as it doesn’t end well, and it won’t, things won’t ever be the same. Your friendship’s gone. Possibly forever.

Many years ago I had the privilege of being one of two flower girls at a beautiful wedding. Unlike me, this other flower girl was special, exquisite, and quite extraordinary. You see, this beautiful girl was in remission from Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia. Although she remained cancer free for years she seemed to relapse. However, this relapse was a different form of cancer known as Acute Myelogenous Leukemia. By this time we were both near the end of our high school experience. Though we hadn’t kept in touch over the years I was devastated when I heard she had lost her fight. Little did I know she’d be by my side through what has seemed to be my most difficult life experience. It was during her fight that I had taken a health class. In this health class sat a boy that I couldn’t stand. He was loud, obnoxious, and far from the teacher’s pet that I was. Strangely enough we kept in touch after high school and have been close ever since. It was then I

had learned he too was fighting Acute Myelogenous Leukemia. I couldn’t help but think how strange of a coincidence that was. I had no idea that I’d later fall completely in love with such an incredibly humble and selfless person such as him. I too realized that Kendal was always there and that she was meant to be. I was meant to help and love him through this and she helps me do that everyday. I can’t make him better or bring her back as much as I want to, but I can help in some way. On November 10, I will be participating in the Light the night Walk at Tempe Arts Park and I’d love it if anyone and everyone would join me.
